ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL-SOAL PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATERI PERBANDINGAN DI KELAS VII SMP NEGERI 2 SIPAHUTAR

Abstract

This research is motivated by findings in the field which show that students' abilities are weak in solving comparative material problem-solving questions. The problem raised in this study is "How are students' abilities in solving problems solving problems of comparative material". This research is a descriptive research. The subjects in this study were 31 students in class VII-3 of SMP Negeri 2 Sipahutar. The object of this study is student learning outcomes based on problem solving indicators as feedback from the results of an analysis of students' abilities in solving comparative material problem solving questions in class VII-1 SMP Negeri 2 Sipahutar 2018/2019 Academic Year. From the results of the final test of the analysis of students' abilities in solving problems solving problems of comparative material, several conclusions were obtained as follows: (1) Understanding the problem: very good results 0.00%, good 3 people (9.67%), enough 6 people (19 .35%), less 12 people (38.70%), very less 10 people (32.25%). (2) Planning problem solving: very good results 0%, good 2 people (6.35%), enough 1 person (3.22%), less 20 people 64.51(%), very less 8 people (25, 80%). (3) Carry out the problem solving plan: very good results 4 people (12.90%), good 2 people (6.45%), enough 10 people (32.25%), less 6 people (19.35%), very poor 9 people (29.03%) (4) checked the results obtained: very good results (0%), good 0%, good 4 people (12.90%), enough 4 people (12.90%), less 4 people (12.90%), very less 19 people (61.29%). the ability of students to solve problem-solving questions is still in the less and very less category. Suggestions from researchers after carrying out this research are: Teachers are expected to be able to provide more practice in the form of problem solving questions to students so that students' abilities in solving problem solving questions can increase.
