Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in student learning outcomes taught using the Jigsaw method and the Contextual Teaching Learning method on the subject of rectangular shapes in class VIII SMP Negeri 1 One Roof Cover in the 2019/2020 Academic Year. The population of this study were all Grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 One Roof Tampahan, consisting of 113 people with a total sample of 60 people obtained by random sampling through a lottery. Data analysis to test the hypothesis with the t-test statistical formula. The type of research used is experimental research. Of the two sample groups, one experimental group1 was determined, namely class VIIIb and one experimental group2, namely class VIIIc, both groups were given the same instrument. Where the instrument consists of 10 items which were first tested to determine validity, reliability, level of difficulty and discriminatory power. Based on the results of the research data stated that the learning outcomes of the two sample groups were different. After the requirements test was carried out, namely the normality test with the Liliefors test with the Jigsaw method, it was obtained L0 = 0.1342 and Ltable = 0.161, with the CTL method, L0 = 0.1232 and Ltable = 0.161 from the two samples L0<Ltable and both classes were normally distributed and the test homogeneity with the variance comparison test obtained FHit = 2.26 and Ftable = 2.424 then FHit<Ftable then both classes have homogeneous variances. < ttab, thit is beyond the acceptance of Ho, then Ho is rejected, meaning that there is a significant difference between the learning outcomes of students taught using the Jigsaw method and the CTL method on rectangular shape material in class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Satu Atap Tampahan.
